{"id":4482,"date":"2021-02-26T17:14:25","date_gmt":"2021-02-26T17:14:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.opfiles.com\/agenda\/?p=4482"},"modified":"2021-02-26T17:14:27","modified_gmt":"2021-02-26T17:14:27","slug":"ebt-cards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.opfiles.com\/agenda\/2021\/02\/26\/ebt-cards\/","title":{"rendered":"EBT Cards"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) Program<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All CPS students, <strong>regardless of income or citizenship status<\/strong>, are now eligible for food benefits as a result of the Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT). These benefits are provided on a card that can be used like a debit card to purchase food at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fns.usda.gov\/snap\/retailer-locator\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">any grocery store that accepts Link cards<\/a>. Families will receive P-EBT cards automatically and do not need to complete an application. P-EBT cards will be mailed beginning in March to each student\u2019s primary address listed in Aspen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Action required to ensure families receive P-EBT:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Schools must ensure student addresses are up-to-date in Aspen.<\/li><li>If a family doesn\u2019t have an address they want to use, they can request to use the school\u2019s address.<ul><li>Their P-EBT card will be mailed to the school where the student\u2019s parent or guardian can pick it up. P-EBT cards cannot be distributed to the student directly.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Schools need to ensure the parent\/guardian for each student signs for the card when they pick it up.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>New benefits will be loaded on P-EBT cards between the 11th and 22nd of each month moving forward through June 2021.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>We encourage you to share the letters linked <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1ik-9GNQS11zh041MfOWp30cBPBKGNTzo7i8afHe6mw8\/edit\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a> with your families.
